In 2014, Wednesday became All-Parish-Nights. Your whole family, whether a family of one or a family of ten – were invited to gather for Supper at 5:30pm and then each age group broke off into their own Faith Formation. Adults and older teens participated in Oremus and StrengthsFinder, middle school had Youth Group, elementary kids had Young Church, 4-year-olds and up to 2nd graders participated in “Pirates Treasure”, and childcare was provided at “Tot’s Treasure”.
With an eye to continue to “centralize” work, play, education, meetings and fellowship on campus, we are also streamlining most regular monthly meetings to Wednesday Nights as well. Adult Faith Formation will occur on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of the month (“Teaching Nights”), and most regular monthly parish meetings will take place on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month (“Community Nights”).
We are excited about the Adult Faith Formation calendar this year. The primary focus is Fr. Robert Barron’s renowned and acclaimed “Catholicism Project”. This DVD series is so excellent that many PBS affiliates showed part of all of the series. Small group discussion will follow. Many other parish events such as the Lenten Mission and Penance Services will be built around Wednesdays as well.
